Jeremy Renner is an advocate for more women taking lead roles in Hollywood movies.

Jeremy stars in the upcoming Alien invasion movie Arrival, which features Amy Adams in the lead role – and it’s something he wants to see more of.

‘There’s never enough quality lead roles for females in Hollywood,’ he told Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid. ‘I think this is a spectacular one, she’s a superhero.

‘She’s not victimised, she’s not anything else. She saves the world. She’s a smart woman, she’s a linguist, and all the things that make a woman a woman.’

He added: ‘To work with… Read the full story

Turns out there was no CGI in that tray scene in Spider-Man – it was all Tobey Maguire

Remember that iconic Spider-Man scene when Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker is coming to grips with his new powers and he catches love interest Mary-Jane Watson mid-fall in the middle of the cafeteria?

Using his webslinger, he also manages to catch her tray along with the sandwich, apple, carton of juice, and dessert that were precariously balanced on top.

It was impressive in 2002 and it’s still impressive now but we’ve just discovered that star of the film Tobey actually managed that slight of hand all by himself and with no CGI trickery – and in only 156 takes.

Now THAT is impressive.

DVD commentary for the film has come to light that has John Dykstra, an American special effects artist, talking about the scene.

In the video he can be heard telling fans: ‘This gag when he catches all this stuff, he actually did that… take 156!’

Tom Hanks’ new film Inferno has gone down in flames (Picture: Columbia)

The latest Dan Brown movie adaptation Inferno has been torched on a critical bonfire by reviewers and audiences alike.

The third Da Vinci Code movie, starring Tom Hanks and Rogue One’s Felicity Jones, sounds like a real stinker as it’s already been branded ‘fundamentally silly’, ‘fantastically boring’, ‘hideously cheesy’ and ‘anti-climactic’ ahead of its UK release today.

One critic from First Post even wrote that the film ‘reaches self-parody’ – despite the fact 60-year-old Hanks and director Ron Howard have ‘both made excellent films in their careers’.
