John Cho had a gay kiss in Star Trek Beyond which was apparently cut from the finished film.

The new film reveals Cho’s character Hikaru Sulu has a daughter and a same-sex partner, played by writer Doug Jung.

According to Cho, one scene saw them share a kiss at the airport, and while it was eventually dropped Cho insists he was ‘proud’ of the romantic moment.

He told Vulture: ‘There was a kiss that I think is not there anymore. It wasn’t like a make-out session. We’re… Read the full story

Idris Elba seems to have ruled himself out of playing James Bond.

The actor’s name has been linked to the role of 007 for months – until Tom Hiddleston and Aidan Turner joined in the mix anyway.

But Idris himself appears to have dismissed any possibility of playing the British spy himself.

Speaking on Good Morning America, he joked that the idea was ‘terrible’ but confirmed he hadn’t been in any talks about the part.

But he went on to suggest that he might be a bit over the hill to play a part that required so much dashing around.

Marilyn Manson plays a killer with deadpan banter and no mercy in a brand new clip from his upcoming movie.

In crime thriller Let Me Make You A Martyr – due to premiere at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal – the goth musician takes on the role of a cold-blooded hit man hell-bent on crushing his prey.

He acts alongside his ‘unwanted mentor’ and Sons Of Anarcy co-star Mark Boone Jr – who brought him on to the project, apparently telling Manson: ‘You gotta do this, motherfucker. You’ll like this.’

In a clip from Rolling Stone, Manson’s bespectacled character threatens his potential next victim through… Read the full story

Trekkies who want to get beyond sober and into darkness, can rejoice as there are not one but two new beers to celebrate the long-running science-fiction franchise’s 50th anniversary.

Yup, this year fans will be raising a glass or two to the fact that the first Star Trek episode aired on September 8, 1966.

Shmaltz Brewing, a New York-based company, are releasing the craft beers to mark the 50th anniversary.

Up first is The Trouble With Tribbles (which we’re reliably informed is 5 Malts, 5 Hops, 5% ABV), named after the infamous episode which saw the USS Enterprise overrun with cute little hairy beasts (not Ewoks). Not only that, the story, set in 2269,… Read the full story

It’s official! Shooting on the next episodic installment of the Star Wars saga has come to a close – meaning that there are now TWO Star Wars movies filmed but unreleased, including this year’s standalone flick, Rogue One.

Episode VIII like its predecessor The Force Awakens is shrouded in secrecy but the official Star Wars Twitter account shared with us an image of the final slate of filming.

Directed by Rian Johnson (the man behind the Bruce Willis movie Looper), the film is unlike any other Star Wars movie – in that it will begin immediately where the previous one left off.

Ding dong, the witch is back (Pictures: YouTube)

An upcoming sequel to The Blair Witch Project has got its first trailer, released to great excitement at Comic-Con.

The creepy trailer for the film – titled simply Blair Witch – shows a bunch of youths travelling into a haunted wood, but it’s nothing like the original 1999 movie, or its 2000 sequel. Nothing at all.

For a start, this lot are being drawn into the Black Hills Woods by some found footage apparently featuring one of their long-missing sisters. Could it be Heather Donahue?

The new Star Wars film Rogue One is still a long way off but fans have already been treated to two figures of lead character Jyn Erso, played by Brit actress Felicity Jones.

This marks a sharp departure from The Force Awakens’ main role Rey, played by another UK star, Daisy Ridley.

At this point last year, there were no Rey figures available and, indeed, when figures were released to the public, many complained of the lack of merchandising for the film’s central character.

‘Where’s Rey?’ was the question on many fans and families’ lips. And on social media.

But it seems Disney has learned the lesson already and ensured that nobody will be asking… Read the full story

The Cockney diva will act alongside fellow Oscar winner Natalie Portman, though details on who they’re playing or what the story is have no materialised yet.

Star Wars director JJ Abrams would love to see an anthology movie which explores the origins of the Knights of Ren.

As the Star Wars universe continues to expand with forthcoming prequel Rogue One and the Hans Solo spin-off starring Alden Ehrenreich, attention has unsurprisingly turned to where else the franchise could expand in the world-building department.

Turns out, Force Awakens director JJ Abrams has a few ideas of his own – and they delve a little deeper into the dark side.

Can there be anybody left in the world who hasn’t seen Grease – or doesn’t know its best-loved songs?

Yes, not content with making a small fortune at the box office when it was first released in 1978, the John Travolta/Olivia Newton-John musical also spawned one of the biggest-selling soundtracks of all time.

But while you’ve almost certainly thrown a few shapes to its best-known numbers on some random party dancefloor somewhere, just how closely have you been paying attention to the lyrics?

It also offered fans another opportunity to see Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, in action as Affleck’s Bruce Wayne announced he was ‘looking for warriors’ to fight ‘an enemy from far away’.
