West Side Story is being remade by genre-spanning movie megalodon Steven Spielberg.

The Jaws director has never made a musical before, but presumably he does know a lot about Sharks so he must be the man for the job.

He certainly thinks so. The 69-year-old, whose current project is The BFG, has controlled the rights to the remake of the 1961 movie for 15 years and has longed to do it ‘for decades’.

Spielberg told The Hollywood Reporter that Angels in America playwright Tony Kushner is working the script, and that the film will be a co-production between Fox and MGM.

When you watch a TV show everyday, or love a movie enough to watch it repeatedly, you start to feel like you’re living with the characters.

That’s all the more true with comedies. You’re right there – dusting the mantlepiece, eating noodles, dancing to Tom Jones, arguing over whether you and your partner were on a break, and so on.

A talented artist called Babak Ganjei was inspired enough by this idea to paint several living rooms from his favourite funny shows and films.
