Independence Day was the film that seared the image of the White House being blown into smithereens by aliens into the American consciousness.

But it seems that the sequel could have been a very different beast, with the destruction of national monuments being swapped for peace and love, man.

Describing his original plans for the sequel, director Roland Emmerich said he and producer Dean Devlin were going to opt for a totally different sequel.

‘It was after 9/11 and Dean and I wanted to make the movie about peace, and it just didn’t work,’ Emmerich told Empire… Read the full story

They’re known to be two of the most formidable heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Logan and Professor X are looking just a little bit old and past it in the upcoming Wolverine sequel.

Photos from the film’s set show Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier looking pained as he sits in his wheelchair, while Hugh Jackman’s eponymous hero seems pretty desperate too.

The ravishes of time haven’t been particularly kind, with Professor X appearing a little frail, while Wolverine looked rather dishevelled – and a world away from the claw-wielding hero that we’re used to… Read the full story

Because gone is the cute, cartoon, slightly goofy-looking Elliott we all know and love from that film – to be replaced by a 21st Century dragon who looks something like… Read the full story

A brand new trailer for Brotherhood starring Noel Clarke and grime rapper Stormzy has been revealed – and it seems like the ante has been upped significantly.

Brotherhood is the third and final instalment in the trilogy, following 2006’s Kidulthood and 2008’s Adulthood, which followed the life of Sam Peel on the streets of West London.

After Sam’s release from prison in Adulthood, the latest instalment is set to follow Sam’s emergence into the new world ahead of him, with grime artist Stormzy set to star as Yardz.

Brotherhood

It’s been eight years since the last instalment so we’ll have to see if the film can prove its relevance in 2016, but with Stormzy on board and new music from the rapper set to feature – it could potentially give a swift rebirth to the once ‘controversial’ British drama flicks.

The film is written and directed by Noel Clarke, and… Read the full story

It looks like Gervais and comedian Doc Brown are the main names here, and performing with Brent’s band Foregone Conclusion to less-than-enthusiastic crowds is the main game.
