The Greasy Strangler looks eyeball-poppingly good (Pictures: YouTube)

A movie called The Greasy Strangler has landed a UK cinema release, though it’s possible we should all be very concerned about that.

The indie film – described as an ‘oasis of filth and depravity’ by The Guardian – caused a major stir at Cannes where it stood out like a sore thumb against the usual gritty dramas and Woody Allen films.

If you ask us, previews have made the black comedy/horror film look like a combo of Napoleon Dynamite, torture porn staple Hostel and John Waters’ Pink Flamingos.

Those of a boringly delicate disposition may do well to avoid it – or at least test the water by watching this sweary, NSFW trailer first:

Leonardo DiCaprio for Rumi? (Picture: Getty Images)

The word on the street – or the internet, rather – is that Gladiator screenwriter David Franzoni has his eyes on Leonardo DiCaprio for the role of Rumi in an upcoming biopic about the celebrated 13th century Persian poet and mystic.

While this has come as good news to DiCaprio fans, as well as those who enjoy good old-fashioned entertainment, others are deeming Franzoni’s to cast a ‘white’ actor for the role as an outrageous example of typical Hollywood whitewashing. I mean, come on – Rumi wasn’t white (as the hashtag… Read the full story

A spectral presence on the set of The Conjuring 2 apparently led to a priest being called in to give it what for.

That’s according to the movie’s male lead Patrick Wilson, who claims a ‘huge’ heavy curtain kept ‘violently waving’ on set despite there being no wind about.

While Watchmen star Patrick doesn’t believe in bad spirits he admitted the curtain haunting, which went on for a minute, was ‘pretty trippy’.

The actor, who made his theatrical debut in the Marvel blockbuster, is now so hated fans have signed a petition – citing that his voice sounds too young for the role.

Dylan O’Brien’s serious injuries on the set of the Maze Runner sequel were apparently caused by negligence on the part of the production team.

The 24-year-old actor was dragged under a car during a stunt on the set of the ominously-titled Death Cure, and is currently recovering from ‘concussion, facial fracture and lacerations’.

Now an investigation by WorkSafeBC, published by The Globe and Mail, has found that ‘minimal instruction’ was offered to the movie star and that his safety lanyard was too short.

This resulted in O’Brien ‘being pulled off the front vehicle and then being suspended above… Read the full story
