There’s a fan theory that Buddy was actually a rather dark force amongst Santa’s helpers and wasn’t quite as innocent as he portrayed himself to be.

And Reddit user Batfan5 says a number of incidents in the film prove his theory.

One example is the shower scene in which Buddy (Will Ferrell) walks in on Jovie (Zooey Deschanel) whilst she’s singing naked in the shower.
