You’ve enjoyed the original Star Wars trilogy dozens of times (and endured the prequels once), but haven’t you always wanted to be a part of that galaxy far, far away?

Sure, when you were little you nicked one of your dad’s waistcoats and drew a stripe in red crayon down your best pair of trousers and pretended to be Han Solo, but wouldn’t you like to fight the Empire – or perhaps join it – as, um, yourself.

Two writers from Star Wars spin off, Rogue One, are using imagery from the film to protest against US President-elect Donald Trump and it’s brilliant.

With large portions of the world being left flabbergasted over Trump’s victory in the recent US election, Rogue One writers Chris Weitz and Gary Whitta have now connected these events to the forthcoming movie’s themes of rebellion using a special insignia.

The image itself combines the symbol for the Rebellion with a safety pin, something which was used following Brexit to help combat racism.

Actress Keira Knightly has slammed Hollywood’s gender pay inequality as one of the main reasons she’s turned down certain film roles in the past.

The Collateral Beauty star told Grazia Magazine the divide – which continues to separate the earning power of male and female stars was ‘ridiculous’ – and it was time for change.

‘The Hollywood pay gap is ridiculous and we have to do something about it,’ she said.

‘I’ve turned down jobs many times because of it. It’s s**t.’

Celebrity worship is an illness as well as a cultural phenomenon, which began in earnest thanks to pop icons like Elvis Presley (Picture: Getty)

If billionaire TV personality Donald Trump’s rise to power has taught us anything, it’s that 2016 is the year of the celebrity.

If you ask us, Trump — who has appeared in dozens of TV shows including his own, The Apprentice — probably thinks of himself as a true American idol, an Elvis Presley figure, rather than a political liberator.

From Trump to Kim Kardashian, celebs are increasingly central in our everyday lives. And it does make you wonder — have things changed that much since the days of Beatlemania, or Elvis Presley’s megastardom? And if not, what… Read the full story

Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You has been named the favourite movie song of all time.

Houston’s smash hit from 1992 film The Bodyguard took the top spot in all virtually all age groups in new British research published by Samsung Electronics.

The only exception were the 18 to 24-year-olds who voted for Titanic’s My Heart Will Go On, and the 25 to 34-year-olds who said Rocky’s Eye Of The Tiger was their number one.

Disney’s forthcoming Beauty And The Beast reboot is set to feature some new lyrics in Gaston’s solo number, which will be more ‘risque’.

In the original 1991 movie, Gaston’s solo song was essentially a massive all-singing ego trip, complimenting his prowess in wrestling matches and how he has ‘biceps to spare’, while showing off his frankly unsettling hairy animated chest.

However some lyrics originally written by the late Howard Ashman were left unused in the movie, but they’re set to make a comeback… Read the full story

Kanye West is reportedly in talks with Hollywood funnyman Will Ferrell to make his life story into a major movie.

The 39-year-old rapper is said to be willing to ditch his notoriously self-aggrandising persona for a comical biopic – which seems strangely fitting for the man who once proclaimed ‘I am a god’.

Revealing all on the mooted project, a close friend of Kanye’s told the Daily Star: ‘He has been thinking about this for a long, long time and he has been trading ideas with Will.
