We are loath to admit that Netflix runs the world of films and TV now, and it doesn’t look like anything will loosen its grip on our living rooms.

The question of Rey’s parentage is one of the biggest unanswered mysteries that we were left with at the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
But now, it seems that Episode 8 could provide us with the answer – according to Daisy Ridley herself.
The admission came in a Q&A for new documentary The Eagle Huntress, in which Daisy seemed cryptically optimistic about the prospect… Read the full story
Ask us, and we’ll tell you that Donald Glover is PERFECT casting for the role of Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo spin-off.
He’s funny, smart, and every bit as wisecracking as the cool-as-ice smuggler portrayed by Billy Dee Williams in both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
But now, it seems like Donald was born to play the role – after a perfect photo… Read the full story

Say what you like about Halloween and its Pound Shop fripperies — at least it gives you the perfect excuse to watch more horror films.
And that, to me, makes it the best time of the year.
Still, horror is a genre of movie that continues to divide people (thankfully not with a machete owned by Jason Voorhees). Either you love a good horror flick, or you balk at the idea, scared off like a baby gazelle on… Read the full story

As Marvel’s first mystical outing releases in cinemas with Doctor Strange, we’ve gathered our thoughts on the latest superhero blockbuster.
It’s been a turbulent year for superhero movies. While Marvel’s last outing, Captain America: Civil War, was arguably one of the studio’s and genre’s finest moments, we’ve also had the crippling disappointments of DC’s Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad to bring us crashing back to Earth with overblown action and dancing Delevingne.
Marking the end of 2016’s superhero line-up however is Doctor Strange starring Benedict Cumberbatch… Read the full story

An interview with the writer of the fifth Indiana Jones movie reveals that the franchise’s creator is not involved the new film.
Speaking to Collider, writer David Koepp spoke about the forthcoming Indy film, set to star Harrison Ford once more as the titular archaeologist.
The film was announced earlier this year by Disney but George Lucas’ name was not mentioned. When asked if the Star Wars man would be involved, Koepp said:
‘He’s not, to my knowledge. I’ve had no contact with him.’
Ouch!
Just like with the Star Wars films, it seems there’s no place for Lucas at Disney.
Koepp, who penned such hits as Jurassic Park, War Of The Worlds, and Inferno, also managed to get a joke in about the much-maligned Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.
Disney are apparently remaking Oliver Twist with a little help from Ice Cube.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the remake will be ‘a modern and musical take’ on the classic Charles Dickens tale about an orphan boy who joins a gang of pickpockets in London.
Sources have told the website that it will ‘cross many genres’ in terms of music, with some hip-hop thrown in courtesy of the N.W.A.… Read the full story

For many, Halloween is all about carving pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns (or Donald Trump), playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions and watching horror films.

But fear not, parents and babysitters, if you’re stuck with what to do with your kids on this year’s… Read the full story
Deadpool 2 fans are using an online petition to urge legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino to consider stepping into the director’s chair of the upcoming comic book sequel.

Halloween is all about watching scary films.
Which is why the spooky holiday was named after John Carpenter’s 1978 movie, Halloween. (Okay, that’s not strictly true, but it does make a good urban legend.)
Carpenter’s classic slasher is the gold standard for Halloween horror.
But if you want to watch it this year, you’re going to have… Read the full story
