Shane Black is sticking by his decision to mess with Marvel comics fans by executing his wicked Mandarin twist in Iron Man 3.

The director faced widespread condemnation for making Ben Kingsley’s character a British actor, called Tony Slattery, who was playing ‘the Mandarin’ rather than the straight-up terrorist character they knew from the comics.

The truth about the villain was not revealed until well into the movie, following on from a marketing campaign that made his character look similar to the one fans were familiar with.

That live concert of The Little Mermaid finally happened – and Rebel Wilson absolutely splashed it as the evil Ursula.

Sporting an enormous blonde wig, the 36-year-old Aussie sang Ursula’s number Poor Unfortunate Souls, and was convincingly funny and menacing in equal measure.

If that wasn’t enough, the actress who played Ariel in the original 1989 movie, Jodi Benson, later arrived to sing Part Of Your World – and everyone got massive shivers when she did.

He had seemingly emerged as the most likely contender to become the next James Bond, but it looks like Tom Hiddleston has totally ruled himself out of the running.

The British star made the admission at Wizard World Comic Con where he was appearing alongside Chris Hemsworth – after he was quizzed by a fan.

‘I’m sorry to disappoint you, everybody. I don’t think that announcement is coming’, Hiddleston said. ‘But I’m very gratified to hear the enthusiasm. There’s not much… Read the full story

It’s the film that initially propelled her to stardom, so it’s no surprise that The Parent Trap retains a special place in Lindsay Lohan’s heart.

So much so, it seems, that she’s now taken a trip to the London home where the 1998 movie was filmed.

In the film, Lindsay played dual roles as twins Hallie and Annie, who lived apart with their mum and dad on separate sides of the Atlantic.

Kate Beckinsale is disappointed people only remember her for starring in the Underworld franchise.

Kate played vampire Selene in the supernatural film series, which started with Underworld in 2003.

It was followed by sequels Underworld: Evolution in 2006 and Underworld: Awakening in 2012.

There’s even a new installment on the way, Blood Wars, tipped for release later this year with Beckinsale returning to her leather-clad, butt-kicking, trigger-happy character.

As popular (among fans anyway) as the films were, the actress doesn’t want them to be all she’s known for.

We salute you, Paul Feig.

It seems like the director of the new Ghostbusters movie is on a mission to single-handedly shut down nearly ever single detractor of the film that takes issue with the fact that it’s fronted by four women.

And now, he’s rightly taking exception to people calling the film a ‘chick flick.’

‘We still get called, in the press, a “chick flick”, Feig told an assembled crowd at the Produced By conference. ‘We are never not referred to as the “all-female Ghostbusters”, which makes me crazy’.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past became the highest grossing X-Men movie to date when it was released in 2014 so X-Men: Apocalypse, the latest mutant movie was always going to struggle.

Still, it appears that things are pretty bad for Magneto, Professor X and co, with the movie only just crossing the $100 million mark in the US – and seeing a major 66% drop in ticket sales over the second weekend.

Released in the US over a holiday weekend it took home $79.8 million but the past weekend saw sales of just $22.3 million. This makes it the second-lowest second weekend in the X-Men franchise’s history, ahead of only Hugh Jackman’s The Wolverine, released in 2013.

Luckily, it’s not all bad news for the film though, as internationally the sequel, starring Oscar Isaac as the titular villain, has taken home $286 million.

That makes the current total gross worldwide $402 million and by the… Read the full story

Everyone has tried to cast a Harry Potter spell in real life, whether they admit to it or not.

But what exactly are we, and all the characters we love in the books and films, actually saying when doing so?

Despite how good they sound out loud, the spells only require a little translation to bring us to their real, and pretty apt, meanings in English.

Oh Japan, never change.

Soccer Aid 2016 may have been a success at Old Trafford last night, but over in Asia a far less conventional promotional sports stunt was going on.

At the start of a televised baseball match – baseball being one of Japan’s most popular sports – the monsters from The Grudge and The Ring took the mound to throw the first pitch. And it was spectacularly weird.

There was a Clueless reunion this week between Stacey Dash and Donald Faison.

The stars – who played tumultuous couple Dionne and Murray in both the film and TV series – were brought together at  Sirius XM radio station.

Clearly they have the best anti-aging skincare regimes – or just good genes – because neither Stacey or Donald looked like they’d aged since the original film came out in 1995.
