Since announcing his departure from One Direction last month the world is well and truly Zayn Malik’s oyster.
Having already confirmed plans to launch a solo career, the 22-year-old is believed to be eyeing an acting career.
Letting the cat out of the bag was director Gurinder Chadra, who is currently working on the west end bound Bend It Like Beckham: The Musical.
Both Zayn and Gurinder attended The Asian Awards on Friday, where the 55-year-old told The Mirror: ‘We’ve met and spoken. He trained as an actor first then became part of the band. So I think what he’ll be doing is staying true to his heart – and that’s all you can ever do.’
