Renee Zellweger has defended the weight of her character Bridget Jones.
In 2016 an actress has had to speak out about her weight gain to the play the role of a fictional character
Zellweger is the cover star for the latest issue of Vogue.
In the accompanying interview she talked about returning to the screen after five years away.
And she flagged up the criticism she has faced over her physical transformation to play Bridget.
Renee said: ‘I put on a few pounds. I also put on some breasts and a baby bump.
‘Bridget is a perfectly normal weight and I’ve never understood why it matters so much.’
