Mad Max: Fury Road topped Metro.co.uk’s best films of 2015 list, so we’re not surprised to see it’s leading the way at this year’s Jameson Empire Awards.
The annual ceremony celebrates the best of cinema as voted for by readers of Empire magazine, and this year sees George Miller’s high-octane action thriller nab ten nominations including Best Film, Best Actress for Charlize Theron, Best Actor for Tom Hardy, and Best Director.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens takes nine nods including Best Female Newcomer and Male Newcomer for Daisy Ridley and John Boyega respectively, and Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy, while The Martian takes six nods and The Revenant, five.
