The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is reportedly taking legal action over a company who have marketed their ‘Oscar gift bags’ as official merchandise.
Gift company Distinctive Assets have compiled a goody bag worth over $200,000 which includes a first-class trip to Israel, rental cars, sex toys, and a ‘vampire breast lift’.
However, with less than two weeks before the annual ceremony, AMPAS are now said to be suing the firm for trademark infringement and dilution and false advertising, with the claim that the company made their bags appear affiliated with the Academy when in fact they are completely unrelated.
