He’s directing a new version of Dumbo, and now Tim Burton’s trademark gothic style has been extended to other classic Disney movies.
Illustrator Andrew Turasov has done a great job of capturing the aesthetic of animated movies like Corpse Bride, the Nightmare Before Christmas and James And The Giant Peach. And now we’ve got a feeling Sleeping Beauty won’t be waking up.
That’s not to say Disney and Tim Burton aren’t cut from the same cloth. After all, Burton worked on The Fox And The Hound as an animator as far back as 1981.
