Jack Nicholson’s classic horror The Shining has been remade into bird-based nightmare The Chickening by two visual effects artists.
They’ve spliced footage from the original film with new sequences to create a nightmarish world that looks like it was knocked up in Photoshop by Rob Zombie.
In The Chickening, which screened at Sundance 2016, Jack Torrance takes a job as a night manager at Charbay’s Chicken World, a poultry processing plant and resort built on an active volcano. As you do.
With him are his wife, Wendy, and his son Danny, who happens to have the face of a 42-year-man and a wise-cracking Italian sidekick for an index finger.
