She received critical acclaim for her leading role in The Diary Of A Teenage Girl, so it’s no wonder Bel Powley received a nomination for the EE BAFTA Rising Star award.
But while the 23-year-old actress is busy filming her next juicy role in New York, she hasn’t forgotten her west London roots and told Metro.co.uk about her disappointment at the proposed plan to ticket Notting Hill Carnival.
‘Oh, that would be awful. Why would they want to charge entry? It’s supposed to be a celebrations for the locals not a tourist destination,’ Bel says over the phone, having explained that she’s been going to the annual Afro-Caribbean street party all her life.
