Tom Hooper knew that Caitlyn Jenner was going to be on the cover of Vanity Fair before the rest of the world did.
The Oscar-winning director explained this fact to Metro.co.uk while talking about his latest film, The Danish Girl.
‘I remember when we had a shoot with Annie Leibovitz two days after our main shoot ended with Alica and Eddie, and Annie took me aside and said, “I’m going to tell you a secret but you can’t tell anyone,” Tom recalled.
‘And I said, “what?”, and she said “I’m going to photograph Caitlyn Jenner for Vanity Fair”.
‘And that was the first I knew about that and yet, as you say, it has made a big effect on our popular awareness of transgender issues.’
