People are demanding that Disney provide better representation of the LGBT community in their films by giving Elsa from Frozen a girlfriend.

Many people in the community identify with the ice queen, who feels unaccepted because of her powers (sexuality) and hides away in her room and ice castle (closet) until she finally accepts who she is and comes out to save her sister.

With Frozen 2 on Disney’s slate, many people have taken to Twitter with the hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend to explain just why Disney should be providing an LGBT storyline already.

He’s one of the biggest comedy stars in Hollywood, but Seth Rogen still feels like an outsider.

That’s because he believes that the film genre in which he found fame is considered the bottom of the pecking order among his peers.

‘Whenever awards season happens I sure feel like an outsider because no comedy ever gets nominated for any awards in anyway, shape of form,’ Seth explained to Metro.co.uk while promoting new film Bad Neightbours 2.

‘It’s nice that Adam McKay won an Academy Award. That was like a huge step in the right direction, I think, and that movie [The Big Short] is actually really funny, but I for sure feel like an… Read the full story

Marvel has responded to online outrage from fans over the casting of Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One in its upcoming film Doctor Strange.

Marvel’s decision to cast Swinton has been criticised as ‘whitewashing’ Doctor Strange’s mentor who was originally drawn in the comics as an elderly Asian man from Tibet.

But the studio have now released a statement saying that it supports diversity and creative freedom within the film industry.

‘Marvel has a very strong record of diversity in its casting of films and regularly departs from stereotypes and source material to bring its MCU to life,’ the statement read.

The Lion King is not what it seems (Picture: Disney)

The Lion King is arguably one of Disney’s greatest musicals.

But we’ve just discovered that the lions are not all that they seem, thanks to a little reminder from Reddit.

Because all of those famous scenes showing the likes of Mufasa, Scar and Simba roar their hearts out weren’t actually lions roaring.

They were tigers. And a dude named Frank with a trash can.

Harry Potter fans of the world are getting totally emotional today, because it’s the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts.

Yes, on May 2nd 1998, Voldemort and his death eaters descended on the school of witchcraft and wizardry to destroy the boy who lived and his supporters.

Spoiler alert, Voldy failed and was taken out by Harry in front of everyone – in your face, Riddle – and though the magical community (and fandom) celebrates the famous victory each year, they also mourn their fallen heroes too.

JK Rowling took the moment to apologise for the death of Remus Lupin in the battle, while others just couldn’t contain their emotions.

It was the film which first introduced audiences to Neve Campbell, paved the way for everything from Charmed to Witches of East End, and made every gothic teenager want to join a coven, and 20 years ago today (May 3), it premiered in the US.

To celebrate, we’ve compiled a list of 20 things you might not about the cult teen horror that is The Craft.

1. It won an MTV Award

The Craft might not have bothered the Oscars, but it did win an MTV Movie Award in 1997 thanks to the scrap between Fairuza Balk’s Nancy and Robin Tunney’s Sarah.

Look, we believe in dreams – and this guy is the very reason for that.

He’s a big Seth Rogen fan, and we mean BIG.

Not content with meeting the comedy star just once, he’s since met him on two subsequent occasions.

Now, he’s seemingly had a print made to celebrate their previous two meetings – and even got Seth Rogen to hold it.

The result is like something from Inception. Or is that Sethception?

Either way, it’s a brilliant tribute to the man responsible for some hilarious turns in films such as Pineapple Express and Knocked Up.

An internet mock-up of Luke Skywalker singing Celine Dion has brought joy to Star Wars fans around the globe.

Some Star Wars fans were disappointed with the fact that Mark Hamill’s appearance in The Force Awakens was cut to nothing more than a cameo at the end of the movie.

But now a team of video meddlers called David Unger Music have reinvented the film’s climax to give Luke a much more powerful inclusion – by having him sing All By Myself by Celine Dion.

Those teeth were the stuff of nightmares for children who watched Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets – Slytherin’s grimacing villain Marcus Flint may have been a minor character, but he is difficult to forget.

But you wouldn’t recognise actor Jamie Lee Yeates if you walked past him in the street today as he is looking a LOT different. And while you knew that Marcus Flint was destined not to have much luck with the ladies, you’d be amazed by how magical 32-year-old Jamie is looking these days.

Even putting those fake teeth aside, we’re still struggling to comprehend how different the grown up star looks. Excuse… Read the full story

The trailer for the new Ghostbusters film has become the most disliked film in YouTube’s history and the film’s star Melissa McCarthy has now admitted that she thinks the marketing on the film has become ‘confusing’.

And she has said that when she gave her opinion ‘everyone said, “We don’t care what you think”.’

Yikes.

Speaking on The Johnjay and Rich Show, Melissa also confirmed that the movie is ‘a reboot, not a remake’ – despite the trailer stating otherwise.

No one was happy about the news that Nineties cult classic The Craft was getting a remake so here’s some good news – the film is no longer getting a remake.

It’s going to be a reboot.

‘I wouldn’t say that we wouldn’t so much call it a remake as a “twenty years later”,’ producer Douglas Wick has said of the new movie which will be helmed by female director Leigh Janiak.

‘There will be callbacks to the original movie, so you will see there is a connection between what happened in the days of The Craft, and how these young women come across this magic many years later.’

May The Fourth Be With You! Everything we learned about The Force from the Star Wars movies

star

As Darth Vader once said, today will be a day long remembered – it’s Star Wars Day!

All over the world, fans will be getting out their lightsabers to celebrate the world’s greatest film franchise.

But just what has George Lucas’ vision taught us? Here’s everything we learned about the Force from the Star Wars saga.

1. The Force is an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds and penetrates everything, binding the galaxy together. A bit like Twitter.

2. According to Darth Vader, the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force. And he should know.

3. In case you’ve wiped this factoid from your mind, without Midi-chlorians (microscopic lifeform that reside within all living cells) life could not exist, and we would have no knowledge of the Force. The Midi-chlorians continually speak to you, telling you the will of the Force. Of course, you can just choose to ignore this.

4. The Force is what… Read the full story
