There are so many differences between Stephen King’s The Shining and Stanley Kubrick’s film

Stephen King’s The Shining is a classic piece of literature and Stanley Kubrick’s cinematic version shares the same cult status.

But if you’ve read the book AND watched the film, it’s pretty obvious Stanley went in a very different direction with his interpretation of Stephen’s story, which the writer wasn’t too impressed with.

We stumbled upon this amazingly detailed video from CineFix which pinpoints all the little and big differences between King and Kubrick’s The Shining.

1. In the film Jack Nicholson’s character is called Jack Torrance but in the book he’s called John Daniel Torrance.

2. Wendy Torrance in the book is a beautiful blonde but in the film she’s played by non-blonde and unusual Shelley Duvall
