A remake of cult 1988 sci-fi buddy cop movie Alien Nation is in the works.
The original starred James Caan as a narrow-minded Dallas police officer forced to team up with an alien, played by Mandy Patinkin, after a spaceship crash lands on earth.
Now Deadline reports that Midnight Special director Jeff Nichols is helming a new version of the film, which has accrued a great number of fans over the years despite being a box office flop.
