And in 1985, we got our first big screen glimpse of it, when The Care Bears Movie was released.
The Care Bears were an innocent bunch, not so much wearing their hearts on their sleeves as wearing their hearts on their chests and beaming them directly into your face.
Going from greeting cards to plush toys to television and cinema was quite a journey for these little critters, and it was one they bedecked with fuzziness and love.
