Steven Spielberg’s film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The BFG has just been shown for the first time at Cannes film festival, and the verdict is decisively mixed.

Many had pegged Spielberg’s upcoming film – starring Mark Rylance – as one of the family highlights of the summer, but you might want to dial down the hype-meter if you’re to believe the first reviews.
