The director of 2014’s Godzilla reboot has departed the upcoming sequel to pursue other projects.
According to Deadline, the split was an amicable decision between Gareth Edwards, company Legendary and Warner Bros, who brought the last interpretation of Godzilla to the big screen.
The director has said he wants to concentrate on smaller projects following his current work as director on Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One, starring Felicity Jones.
