Sci-fi cinema is causing us to behave like children, says Star Trek’s Simon Pegg

He might have starred in one of the biggest science-fiction franchises of all time – but that hasn’t stopped Simon Pegg from launching a startling attack on the genre.

Speaking to the Radio Times, the actor – who has played Scotty in the last two Star Trek movies – accused the genre of ‘dumbing down’ society, suggesting that such films have now become so popular that more demanding fare isn’t getting a look in.
