Marvel movie star JK Simmons is swapping his allegiance from Spider-Man to Batman having been cast as Commissioner Gordon for upcoming DC blockbuster The Justice League.
The 61-year-old Academy Award winner will be taking over from British star Gary Oldman (who played Gordon in the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy) to play Gotham’s famous cop.
Simmons previously played loud mouthed newspaper editor J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi’s original Spider-Man trilogy but will now be offering back-up to Ben Affleck’s Batman.
