Richard Gere’s new movie The Benefactor only made about £25

Most movies with huge Hollywood stars can usually hope to make several million in their opening weekends. Richard Gere’s didn’t make enough to buy a weekly Oyster travelcard.

His movie The Benefactor opened on February 26, but only in two UK cinemas, which immediately didn’t bode well. Even then it reportedly only managed to bring in £25 from the two locations.

It stars other big names such as Dakota Fanning and Theo James, but apparently that wasn’t enough to draw in the Brit crowds.

According to Yahoo.com, it did pull in a bit more dosh in the States, with around £1.3million hitting the box office.

There’s always next weekend, eh?
