Julie Delpy has apologised for commenting that it is easier to be an African-American actor than a female actor.
The Before Sunrise actress told fans that she was ‘very sorry for how I expressed myself’ and said that she ‘never meant to diminish the injustice done to African American artists or to any other people that struggle for equal opportunities and rights’.
Her apology came after she spoke at Sundance Film Festival and claimed that she sometimes wished she were African-American ‘because people don’t bash them afterward’.
During her comments, her Wiener-Dog co-star Macualay Culkin was seen shaking his head in his hands.
