The long-awaited sequel to Avatar won’t be ready to do battle at the box office with Star Wars in December 2017, according to reports.
The sequel to James Cameron’s pioneering sci-fi epic was due to take on Star Wars Episode VIII for a spectacular box office war next year – but industry insiders now say that the film has been delayed and 20th Century Fox hasn’t confirmed a new release date.
Two further sequels were also due to follow Avatar 2 in 2018 and 2019 – but the future of these is now hanging in the balance, according to BANG Showbiz.
