Al Pacino stars in the new film Danny Collins, about a singer/songwriter who discovers a letter sent to him by John Lennon 34 years after it was actually written.
The letter invited the aspiring musician to get in contact with the Beatles star as Lennon was a fan of his work.
But Danny, played by Al Pacino, never got the letter, and his career took a very different path to the one if he had.
The film portrays him as an aging rocker addicted to drugs and the superficiality of fame, but when he discovers the letter he realises how empty his life is.
