Star Wars: The Force Awakens will feature a special cameo from a droid that was originally built by fan Albin Johnson to cheer up his terminally ill daughter Katie.
R2-KT, an R2-D2-style astromech that has been painted pink, will make a guest appearance in JJ Abrams’ upcoming blockbuster.
Johnson told mygeeknews: ‘Mary Franklin of Lucasfilm asked me to pitch the idea to Kathleen Kennedy (Lucasfilm President), and after hearing the story of our pink ambassador of hope Lucasfilm requested we ship her off to London early last year.
