And now he’s gained support from someone who knows all about playing a man battling personal demons whilst trying to save his nation – Christian Bale.
‘You know what? Let’s have bloody Idris Elba as the next James Bond!’ Christian told The Daily Beast after unequivocally ruling himself out of the running of playing any mor heroes.
The former Batman star added: ‘My days of wearing capes are over.’
We’re not sure Bond wears a cape, Christian, but we get the sentiment.
