We had kind of hoped that the Jumanji remake, first talked about a few years back, had been forgotten about. But confirmation has landed that it’s full steam ahead for the project – with a release date of Christmas 2016 suggested.
The Robin Williams classic was first released in 1995 and saw two children, one played by a young Kirsten Dunst, discover a magical boardgame that drew them into a wild world inhabited by Williams’ character, who had previously become trapped.
It was a good bit of silly, action packed fun which the family could enjoy and many have been put off by the idea of a remake given the danger that their childhood memories could be tarnished.
