Suffragette’s Meryl Streep and Carey Mulligan criticised over ‘racially insensitive’ T-shirts

For the first time in her career, it seems, Meryl Streep is not the most popular woman in film.

That’s because of her recent appearance in a promotional shot for her new movie Suffragette, for which she wears a T-shirt with an Emmeline Pankhust quote on the front which claims ‘I’d rather be a rebel than a slave’.
