The Napoleon film Stanley Kubrick never got to make might finally be happening.

According to Collider, Cary Fukunaga is helming the project using the late director’s script and turning it into 6-hour HBO miniseries, with the help of David Leland.

The news was reportedly confirmed by Jan Harlan, Kubrick’s brother-in-law who executive produced a number of his films, at De Montfort University in Leicester, who were hosting a Stanley Kubrick retrospective.

Idris Elba has hit the set of The Dark Tower in true Western fashion.

The British actor is playing the leading role of Roland Deschain in the cinematic adaption of Stephen King’s fantasy series, and was spotted on the South African set in full costume.

Roland is a sort of frontiersman knight, who wields guns not a sword, on a quest to save his decaying world by reaching the (dark) tower that stands at the nexus point in time and space.

Things get a bit heated in The Big Short. (Picture: Paramount/Universal Home Entertainment)

Adam McKay’s The Big Short is the Oscar-winning movie that holds up a microscope to the financial crisis of the mid-2000s that affected everyone’s lives.

As well as big names like Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Steve Carell, the other star of the movie is Wall Street itself.

The place is as iconic as it is infamous. We’ve seen it in countless films before and it has become a byword for money and excess. In this particular movie we see the dealings that go on behind the scenes, but also a flavour of what makes Wall Street tick.

Daniel Craig is handing back his licence to kill.

The James Bond actor has long been talking about ditching the franchise, but now he’s reportedly gone and done it, and turned down £68million to boot.

Bosses hoped he might return following the success of Spectre, but he’s thought to have handed in his notice anyway, and top bods have accepted after reportedly becoming tired of him slagging off the franchise.

The £68m he was offered to stay included endorsement deals,… Read the full story

Oh behave!

It looks like Austin Powers’ fans could be getting the fourth installment to the movie series they’ve been hankering for – one day anyway.

Jay Roach, who directed the first three movies, says he’s definitely up for revisiting the super spy, played by Mike Myers, in a brand new film.

‘You know, [Mike Myers and I] talk about it [a fourth film] every time we get together,’ he said in an interview on US TV show… Read the full story

A very convincing Ryan Gosling lookalike stars in the spoof trailer for Drive 2: The Uber Years (Picture: YouTube)

Who knew that the sequel to Ryan Gosling’s 2011 art-house thriller Drive would come in the form of a moving expose of the trials and tribulations of Uber drivers?

Well, this hilarious spoof trailer for Drive 2: The Uber Years imagines just that – with Gosling’s anonymous Driver character ditching his job of assisting robberies to work for the global cab company.

It wouldn’t work unless the actor playing Gosling here, Joey Thompson, didn’t look almost exactly like the 35-year-old heartthrob – which, if you ask us, he really does…

Sounds like Marvel’s Black Panther movie is about to get EVEN MORE EPIC as new reports suggest John Boyega is joining the cast.

As a quick reminder, so far Black Panther has Chadwick Boseman – who nearly stole Captain America: Civil War with the introduction of T’Challa (or Black Panther), Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, fan favourite and Fantastic Four star Michael B. Jordan and critically acclaimed director Ryan Coogler.

And now, maybe, John Boyega,… Read the full story

Chris Pine, aka Captain Kirk, is still pining for space in the new Star Trek Beyond trailer (Picture: YouTube)

A brand new trailer for Star Trek Beyond has been released just one day after the first teaser for the upcoming TV reboot.

And unfortunately for the filmmakers, fans have reacted more positively to the TV teaser than they have to their flash, two and a half-minute promo for the third movie in the reboot series.

The close timing of these trailer releases seems even weirder when you consider that it’s been over five months since the last trailer for the movie appeared.

Marvel has announced a string of incredible new cast members for the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok.

You should probably sit down for this one: Joining the already excellent Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tom Hiddleston as evil twin brother, Loki, will be Jeff Goldblum as the eccentric Grandmaster and two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett as new ‘mysterious’ villain, Hela.

Also taking a trip to Asgard will be Creed’s Tessa Thompson as notorious Norse hero, Valkyrie, and Star Trek and Dredd star Karl Urban, who will be playing executioner Skurge.
